Glenelg Cracks Down On Christmas Grinches

Holdfast Bay Council is cracking down on Christmas pageant grinches.

A strict "Christmas at the beach theme" will be enforced this year to avoid businesses just using the family event as a way to advertise.

This year's pageant will be limited to just 65 floats - and they'll have to be kitted out for Christmas, or the council will slap them with a veto.

It's an initiative of Cr Amanda Wilson, who has previously complained of businesses taking part in the pageant without decorating their cars or floats at all.

Cr Wilson is also a member of the Jetty Road Management Committee, which organises the pageant.

The pageant will be held on November 20.
