Ice Epidemic Hits Rural Australians Hard
It’s been revealed an alarming number of rural Australians are using Ice.
Research by Flinders Uni shows crystal meth use is up 150% in the past 9 years compared to just 16% in metro areas.
An addiction specialist says money-hungry bikies are preying on young tradies in vulnerable towns.
Evidence proves they’re the biggest abusers of the drug with Mount Gambier listed as the hardest hit.
Stats also reveal this type of drug use is higher among employed people in rural areas but those without jobs in city centres.
It’s feared men in trades use Ice for self-medicating.
