Serious Crash In The Riverland
A man has died and a woman’s fighting for her life following a crash in the Riverland.
A car and truck collided on the Sturt Hwy near Monash just after 11am.

Police are investigating a crash where a man has died in the Riverland this morning.
Just after 11am on Tuesday 18 October police received reports of a collision between a car and a truck on the Sturt Highway, two kilometres east of Monash.
The driver of the car, a 72-year-old Riverland man, sadly died at the scene. A passenger of the car, a 70-year-old Riverland woman, sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Berri Hospital but is expected to be airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The Sturt Highway at Monash has been closed and is expected to be closed for several hours. Police are on scene diverting traffic around the crash site, so please find an alternate route if possible.
Major Crash Investigators are attending the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
